Bramnick: Murphy’s short-term thinking will cause more people to exit our state

Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick criticized Gov. Phil Murphy’s justification to raise $536 million in new taxes to return a $125 tax credit as property tax relief.

“Raising taxes to give people $125 is just another scheme that doesn’t solve the property tax problem,” said Bramnick (R-Union).

A $125 refundable tax credit amounts to about 1.4 percent of the average annual property tax bill of $8,767 in New Jersey, which has the highest property taxes in the country.
